Jeri Lynn Houck, PT
My name is Jeri Lynn Houck. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. I knew physical therapy was the career I wanted to pursue when I was in high school and was inspired by an Easter Seals poster of a physical therapist helping a child to walk. Taking my compassion and desire to help others has allowed me to enjoy a career for over 30 years in a variety of healthcare settings in Pinellas and Pasco County: private practice, home health care and skilled nursing facilities.
I have been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1981. I am also a member of the Florida Chapter, Geriatric Section. My interests include: Arthritis Diseases and Conditions, Balance, Geriatric Rehabilitation, Orthopedic Injuries and Conditions, Shoulder and Hand rehabilitation – with a certification in Hand Therapy from 1991 – 2001. It was during this time I first worked with Joe in his private practice, developing the hand therapy program. After limiting my work schedule to spend time with my 3 sons and husband, I re-entered the workforce and for 13 years have been evaluating and providing physical therapy to patient’s in rehab centers and home settings.
I joined Impact Health because of my long-standing relationship with Joe and my initial impression was how refreshing to be able to treat the client/patient without catering to efficiency and productivity ratings; or being limited to 3-5 therapy visits by the insurance companies despite the documented need for more care. I can use my knowledge in the anatomy and physiology of the body and the skills I have developed through the years to treat the whole person not just a body part. I feel at Impact Health we have the opportunity to maximize our time with each client, one on one, with a focus on educating them as to what is happening in their body, providing the tools for them to be an active participant in achieving their goals, optimizing health and wellness for day to day living.
